56-year-old Terry Gaff received a suspended sentence for causing the death of motorcyclist Alan Rice, who he struck after veering onto the wrong side of the road in Skerries, Co Dublin. Gaff pleaded guilty to careless driving causing death. The court heard that there were no aggravating factors in the case and Gaff was not speeding, under the influence, or driving in poor conditions.
