19-year-old Gavin Seymour, who pled guilty to second-degree murder in connection with a house fire that killed five Senegalese family members in Denver, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. The fire, which occurred on August 5, 2020, was allegedly a revenge plot for a stolen cellphone, mistakenly traced to the victims' home. Denver District Court Judge Karen Brody handed down the maximum sentence allowed.
