14 Japanese energy firms, including Mitsubishi's wind power unit and JERA, have established the Floating Offshore Wind Technology Research Association to develop large-scale floating offshore wind farms in Japan. The country aims to produce 10GW of offshore wind power by 2030 and up to 45GW by 2040 as part of its decarbonisation efforts. The association will jointly create technology and international standards with overseas organisations.
