31-year-old Lapeer man, Derek Hockin, died in a wrong-way crash on eastbound I-69 in Lapeer County. Hockin's Chevy Cruze left the westbound lanes, crossed the grassy median, and entered eastbound I-69. He crashed head-on into a westbound Ford Explorer, driven by a 22-year-old Lapeer woman. Police believe a medical condition could have been a contributing factor in the crash. The woman driving the Explorer was taken to the hospital with stable injuries.
