Firefighters in Wythe County, Virginia, rescued a bear cub amid the flames of a growing forest fire. The Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department first responded to the brush fire, which quickly escalated and led to multiple agencies assisting. Amid the efforts to control the fire, the bear cub was rescued by Wythe County Assistant Administrator Matt Hankins and handed over to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
