80-year-old Samaritan, Patrick Hare, died after pushing a woman out of harm's way during a car crash in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island. His son, Ron Hare, said his father always helped others and held doors open for people. Patrick Hare had stopped to help a woman whose car hit a pole when a suspected impaired driver hit the damaged vehicle, striking the pair standing nearby. Hare likely saved the woman's life by pushing her out of the way. The 80-year-old man died in hospital days later.
