33-year-old James Moyles, from Ballina, Co Mayo, was described as a "hero" at an inquest after sacrificing his life to save his six-year-old niece from an oncoming vehicle. Moyles died from injuries sustained in the incident at Lord Edward Street, Ballina, on February 22nd, 2021, at Mayo University Hospital. The inquest was opened and adjourned by the Coroner for the District of Mayo, Pat O'Connor.
