SBP admits circulation of misprinted Rs1,000 banknotes, with error segregation and exchange process at BSC counters.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) acknowledged the circulation of misprinted Rs1,000 banknotes, admitting that errors and faults can occur in mass-produced banknotes despite all security checks. The bank clarified that Pakistan Security Printing Corporation has a mechanism to segregate misprinted banknotes, and exchanges for perfect ones can be made at SBP's BSC counters. The central bank is working on measures to prevent such malfunctions in the future.
