Pakistan's State Bank of Pakistan denies planning to issue polymer banknotes.

Pakistan's State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has denied rumors of issuing polymer banknotes, stating that there is no such plan or suggestion under consideration. The SBP currently uses cotton-based paper substrate for currency production, manufactured locally by Security Papers Limited. The central bank clarified that the risk of misprinted banknotes remains due to large-scale printing and production.
