Arkansas revokes "X" gender option on state-issued IDs, supported by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Arkansas no longer allows residents to use "X" instead of male or female on state-issued driver's licenses or identification cards. The Department of Finance and Administration announced new rules that make it harder for transgender people to change their gender on licenses and IDs. This change reverses a practice in place since 2010 and removes the "X" option used by nonbinary and intersex residents. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders supported the move, calling it "common sense."
