U. of Texas at Austin Will Return to Standardized Test Requirement.

The University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) will reinstate standardized test score requirements for applicants starting from the fall 2025 semester, after temporarily suspending them during the COVID-19 pandemic. UT-Austin's President, Jay Hartzell, stated that test scores help identify how students will fare in their first college semester and assist in identifying those who may require additional support. The university is introducing an early action process for the fall 2025 semester, allowing applicants to apply by October 15 for an earlier, non-binding decision.
