Dartmouth College will again require SAT/ACT scores for admissions from 2029, as internal research revealed helpfulness in identifying underprivileged students.

Dartmouth College has decided to reintroduce the requirement for applicants to submit standardized test scores such as SAT or ACT, starting from the admissions cycle for the Class of 2029. This comes after internal research showed that test scores were particularly helpful in identifying students from less-resourced backgrounds who would succeed at Dartmouth but might have been overlooked in a test-optional environment.
