South Koreans spent a record 111.9 billion minutes (over 40 hours) on YouTube in January, per a Wiseapp survey. Time spent on the platform has nearly doubled over the past five years, with monthly average usage rising from 21 hours to 40 hours. YouTube became South Korea's most-used mobile platform in December with 45.65 million monthly active users, surpassing the country's top mobile messenger, Kakao.
