Kedah Sultan asks for review of Syariah Court structure, judicial parity, and enshrinement in state constitution.
Kedah Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah has urged the government to review the structure of Syariah Courts, including their hierarchical system, to provide better justice to relevant parties. He also called for judges' positions to be on par with Civil Court judges. The Sultan stated that Syariah Courts should reflect Islam's importance in the state and be enshrined in Kedah's Constitution.
