Singapore's Court of Appeal upheld a 33-year-old man's death sentence for heroin trafficking, dismissing his claims that he mistakenly believed the drugs were cannabis. Shen Hanjie was found with 34.94g of heroin in his bedroom in 2018, arguing he was only safekeeping the drugs for another person. However, the court found Shen's excuses implausible and noted he kept drug records, suggesting he was aware of the nature of the drugs.
