Platinum group metal (PGM) prices decline in 2023, resulting in lower profitability for mining company Implats, despite cost control across several operations. Implats generated Ebitda of R8.4bn, headline earnings of R3.3bn, and recorded a free cash outflow of R4.8bn. The company closed the period with net cash of R5.2bn and declared no interim dividend. Implats CEO Nico Muller stated that despite challenges, the company delivered strong operational performance.
