Colorado updates its climate action plan, aiming to cut greenhouse gas pollution by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero pollution by 2050. Governor Jared Polis and state energy and transportation officials have released "Roadmap 2.0", which outlines 49 near-term actions to tackle emissions from transportation, electricity generation, buildings, oil and gas industry, and agriculture. The updated plan highlights the benefits of promoting higher-density housing and supports the development of renewable energy projects. Despite achieving 80% of its 2030 emission reduction goal, Colorado must accelerate its efforts to reach the final targets.
