An armed robbery at a Newcastle hotel left a hotel worker seriously injured. Two armed men with a machete and a baseball bat entered the premises, confronted two employees, and fled with cash. The injured employee was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. Police are investigating the incident and have established a crime scene with local traffic diversions in place.
