Cairo's Citadel opens a new wing with two semi-circular towers.
Cairo's citadel, a prominent landmark dating back to 1176 AD, has opened another wing housing two semi-circular towers to attract more visitors and expand Egypt's tourist attractions. The newly opened section, used until recently as a private events space and barracks, includes the Ramla and Haddad (blacksmith) towers built by Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi's successors in the decades following his death.
