Cairo's Citadel opens new wing for tourist attractions.

Cairo's Citadel, a medieval fortress dating back to 1176 AD, has opened a new wing to the public, including the Ramla and Haddad (blacksmith) towers, to expand Egypt's tourist attractions. The Citadel of Cairo was built under Muslim military commander Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi and served as Egypt's government base for over 700 years. The newly opened section was previously a private events space and housed army and police barracks.
