3,000-year-old Spanish treasure contains meteorite-sourced iron, a 1st for Iberian Peninsula.

A recent study reveals that a 3,000-year-old treasure found in Spain contains metals from beyond Earth. The research found that the iron technology used in the treasure was different from traditional copper-based metallurgy. The iron artifacts found in the treasure contain material sourced from a meteorite that fell to Earth approximately one million years ago. These artifacts, dating back to 1400-1200 BC, are the first objects discovered in the Iberian Peninsula containing material from beyond Earth.
