A 2000-year-old bronze hand found in Irulegi, northern Spain may hold clues to the origins of the Basque language. The hand, discovered in 2021, contains mysterious text inscribed on its back. Archaeologists suggest these inscriptions could be related to Basque, but linguists are not convinced. The settlement where the hand was found dates back to the Iron Age, between 1500 and 1000 BC.
