French ski resorts warned to adapt to climate change as snow machines offer temporary protection, report finds.

French ski resorts have been warned that they cannot rely on snow machines and must do more to adapt to climate change, according to a report. The report found that France’s 320 winter sports resorts are struggling with a lack of snowfall and an erosion of their skiing clientele. Snow machines provide "relative and transitory protection", warns the Cour des Comptes, with investments often uncorrelated with climate forecasts.
