The earthquake occurred at 11:24 p.m. and its epicenter was 4.9 miles northwest of Prague, Oklahoma, approximately 57 miles east of Oklahoma City. The earthquake was shallow, at just 1.8 miles below the surface, making the shaking more intense. This event follows six earthquakes, including two greater than magnitude 4.0, which were recorded near another Oklahoma City suburb in the previous month.
