The city of San Diego has completed the required safety improvements to reinstate the train quiet zone in the city center, according to a press release. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) had suspended the quiet zone, resulting in trains sounding their horns near the crossings in downtown San Diego. The FRA is now reviewing the improvements and will decide whether to approve them.
