Weini Kelati Breaks American Record in the Half Marathon.
In the 2024 Aramco Houston Half Marathon, Weini Kelati broke the American record with a time of 66:25. This marks the third consecutive year the record has been broken in Houston, following Sara Hall in 2022 and Emily Sisson in 2023. Kelati finished fourth overall, while Ethiopia's Sutume Kebede won the race with a time of 64:37, tying her for ninth on the all-time list.
