NASA launches PACE satellite to study atmospheric impact on warming, as extreme weather disrupts global education.

NASA's newest satellite, PACE, aims to help scientists understand the 2024 global temperature spike, the warmest on record, by studying atmospheric aerosols' impact on Earth's energy balance. Meanwhile, extreme weather disrupted schooling for 242 million students across 85 countries, with heat waves being the most disruptive. In response to the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, Bloomberg Philanthropies and other climate charities have pledged to ensure the U.S. meets its climate obligations.
