Nigerian court upholds death sentence for hotel owner in postgrad student's murder case.

The Court of Appeal in Nigeria has upheld the death sentence of Ramon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotel, for the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student. The Osun State High Court initially sentenced Adedoyin to death in May 2023. Despite his appeal, the higher court confirmed the death sentence but reversed the orders for the forfeiture of his hotel and the educational scholarship for Adegoke's children. Adegoke's body was discovered at Adedoyin's hotel in November 2021.
