A Nigerian court has sentenced Chinese businessman, Frank Geng Quarong, to death for murdering his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummu Kulthum Sani, in 2022. Quarong, who was found guilty of stabbing the 22-year-old university student multiple times in her room, has 90 days to appeal against the verdict. Death sentences are rare in Nigeria, with the last execution carried out in 2012.
