Canada's healthcare ranks ninth out of ten countries, facing issues with access and wait times.

A new report from the C.D. Howe Institute shows Canada's healthcare system ranks ninth out of ten countries in access, equity, and wait times, only outperforming the U.S. While Canada's quality of care is relatively high, accessing care is challenging, with 47% waiting two months or longer for a specialist and 59% for elective surgery. The report suggests improving outcomes requires enhancing access, expanding drug and dental coverage, and making mental health and homecare more affordable.
