Australia launches $42.3M National Autism Strategy to improve services and inclusion for autistic individuals.

Australia has launched its first National Autism Strategy, allocating $42.3 million to improve social and economic inclusion, diagnosis, and health services for autistic individuals. The strategy, which runs until 2031, includes 22 commitments and aims to boost wellbeing through a peer support program and a study on autism prevalence. Critics, however, worry the plan may not sufficiently support those who lose access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme and that support could rely on costly diagnoses.
