At least nine Indians, including Binil T B, have died fighting for Russia in Ukraine after being recruited under false pretenses.

A 32-year-old Indian man, Binil T B, from Kerala, died fighting for Russia in the Ukraine war, while his relative, Jain T K, 27, was injured. Initially recruited under false pretenses of support roles, they were coerced into frontline fighting after their passports were taken. At least eight Indians have died fighting for Russia since the war began. The Indian government and church leaders are urging for the return of these stranded Indian nationals.
