Idaho DMV starts requiring customers to choose next of kin for emergency contacts starting July 1st.

The Idaho DMV is urging residents to add a next of kin to their profiles for emergency contact purposes. Starting July 1st, DMV representatives will ask customers to designate a primary and/or secondary contact or opt out. Currently, adding a next of kin is optional, but it can help emergency services quickly reach loved ones in case of an accident. To update your profile, visit dmv.idaho.gov.
