Killeen, Texas, will open a warming center from January 5 to 10, run by Friends in Crisis, to help residents cope with forecasted cold temperatures and snowfall. The center at 412 E. Sprout St. will be open nightly from 8 PM to 11 AM when temperatures or wind chill drops below freezing. Public buildings like City Hall, libraries, and recreational centers will also serve as daytime warming spots.
