Former President Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president, passed away at 100 in his hometown of Plains, Georgia. Carter served from 1977 to 1981, focusing on human rights and peace efforts, notably the Camp David Accord between Egypt and Israel. Post-presidency, he and his wife Rosalynn founded The Carter Center, working on global health, democracy, and peace initiatives. Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his humanitarian efforts. He also helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity and authored over 30 books.
