Qatar launches sustainable finance initiatives, aiming for $75 billion in green investments by 2030.

Qatar is pushing forward with sustainable finance initiatives to combat climate change and diversify its economy. The Qatar Central Bank has launched an ESG strategy to position the country as a global sustainable finance hub, while the Qatar Financial Centre has introduced a sustainable framework for bonds. These steps aim to attract at least $75 billion in sustainable foreign investment by 2030, supporting projects in renewable energy and environmental conservation. The efforts also include hosting the first carbon-free FIFA World Cup in 2022 and adopting green standards in buildings and transportation.
