A Tarrant County jail inmate died this month, marking the ninth death in custody this year under Sheriff Waybourn.

A 31-year-old inmate died at Tarrant County jail after a medical emergency. This is the second death in custody this month and the ninth this year. The inmate, who had a history of medical issues, was arrested for drug possession. The cause of death is under investigation by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. Since 2017, 65 inmates have died in the county jail under Sheriff Bill Waybourn's tenure.
