India launches new semiconductor units and supercomputers, boosting tech investments and creating jobs.

In 2024, India launched four new semiconductor manufacturing units and three 'Param Rudra' supercomputers to boost its global tech standing. Investments range from ₹3,307 crore to ₹91,526 crore. Nine projects under the Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS) were also approved, expected to create 15,710 jobs. Additionally, over 6.39 crore individuals were trained in digital literacy under PMGDISHA.
