One in nine UK residents will spend Christmas Day alone this year, up from one in 20 in the past.

A new study by King's College London reveals that one in nine people in the UK will spend Christmas Day alone this year, up from one in 20 five decades ago. The study shows that while 80% still enjoy the holiday, down from 86% in 1969, the religious significance of Christmas has waned, with 60% seeing it as a family occasion. Additionally, 79% of Britons believe stores push Christmas goods too early, reflecting changes in festive attitudes.
