The United Nations Human Rights Office in Venezuela has partially resumed operations after being shut down by the government, which accused it of aiding coup plotters and terror groups. UN High Commissioner Volker Türk expressed concern over post-election violence, including the detention of over 2,000 people and the deaths of more than 20 individuals. Türk called for investigations into these incidents, while Venezuela criticized the UN's objectivity.
