Study finds young adults in Mexico more likely to die from heat exposure than older individuals.

A recent study in Science Advances reveals that in Mexico, young adults under 35 are more likely to die from heat exposure than older individuals, challenging the belief that the elderly are most at risk. Analyzing data from 1998 to 2019, researchers found that nearly 32 heat-related deaths occurred in people under 35 for every death among those over 50. The study suggests this trend may worsen with climate change, highlighting the need for targeted measures to protect younger age groups.
