Zimbabwe boosts healthcare with surge in orthopedic and pediatric surgeons, aided by COSECSA training.

Zimbabwe has significantly boosted its healthcare sector by increasing the number of orthopedic and pediatric surgeons. Since 1999, the number of orthopedic surgeons has risen from 25 to 48, with 42 trained through COSECSA. Pediatric surgeons have grown from one to 88, with seven COSECSA graduates. This improvement is largely attributed to COSECSA's training initiatives, which have also helped retain healthcare professionals in the country.
