Europe sees 70% of homes smoke-free, with England leading at 85% and Greece at 44%, study shows.

Seven out of ten homes in Europe are smoke-free, with England leading at nearly 85% and Greece lagging at 44%. A survey of 11,700 people across 12 countries shows Northern Europe has more smoke-free homes than Eastern Europe. Since 2004, smoke-free regulations in public spaces have increased, but homes remain a common area for smoking. Researchers advocate for stronger tobacco control measures to speed up the transition to smoke-free homes, currently progressing at 1% per year.
