Over 268,000 people in Nigeria's South East region have been displaced due to ecological disasters, mainly gully erosion, leaving them without access to clean water, shelter, healthcare, and education. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu highlighted the crisis, calling for urgent humanitarian aid and sustainable solutions from international NGOs and government agencies. The affected states include Enugu, Imo, Abia, Anambra, and Ebonyi.
