Former St. Paul school employees sue, alleging misuse of COVID funds and retaliatory firings.

Two former St. Paul Public Schools employees have filed a lawsuit alleging that the district, under former Superintendent Joe Gothard, misused federal COVID relief funds and fired them for raising concerns. The lawsuit claims the district used funds for employee bonuses, gifts, and to cover budget deficits, instead of intended purposes. The district, which received a clean audit report, has not commented on the ongoing litigation.
