Louisiana school CEO accused of misusing $350,000 in funds; school challenges audit.

The Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office found that Chakesha Scott, CEO of Impact Charter School in Baker, Louisiana, misused hundreds of thousands of dollars in school funds for personal expenses, including travel and car leases. The audit report, which has been referred to the district attorney and U.S. Attorney's Office, also accuses Scott of misleading board members. Despite the findings, the school has been approved for renewal with possible special conditions. Impact Charter School refutes the audit’s claims, stating they are misleading and inaccurate, and has taken legal action.
