Right-wing leader Derek Blighe guilty of threatening asylum seeker facility manager, ordered to pay €350 or face fine.

Derek Blighe, the leader of the right-wing Ireland First party and an anti-immigration activist, was found guilty of threatening and abusive behavior towards a duty manager at a building in Fermoy, Co. Cork, set to house asylum seekers. Blighe live-streamed the incident, which "traumatized" the manager. The court ordered Blighe to donate €350 to the Irish Refugee Council by December 13; otherwise, he faces a €400 fine and conviction.
