Former Rep. Mike Rogers, a Michigan Republican who lost his Senate race, met with President-elect Trump's transition team about potentially becoming FBI director. Rogers, a former FBI agent and head of the House Intelligence Committee, was previously interviewed for the role in 2017 but was not selected. Trump has been critical of the current FBI leadership. Another potential candidate is Kash Patel.
