A dead newborn was found in Los Angeles' Skid Row, near a bleeding woman who was detained.

A newborn baby boy was found dead in an alley in Los Angeles' Skid Row on Thursday morning. The baby was discovered around 5:30 a.m. and may have been thrown from a fourth-floor window. Bystanders attempted CPR, but the baby could not be revived. A bleeding woman was also found nearby and taken to the hospital. The LAPD is investigating the case, and the woman has been detained and released pending further investigation. California law allows for the confidential surrender of newborns to hospitals without penalty.
