Fifty-seven new police officers graduated in Porirua, New Zealand, with many having family ties in law enforcement. Top graduate Constable Andre Matson, formerly a McDonald's employee and engineering student, led the diverse class. The new officers, starting duty the week of November 25, include 26.9% females and various ethnic groups, with New Zealand Europeans comprising 55.5% and Māori 21.5%.
